Ingredients
To make a beetroot halwa recipe you need two medium-sized beetroots, peeled and grated, one cup milk, half a cup sugar, half tbsp ghee, 1/4 cup chopped nuts, half tsp cardamom powder and a pinch of saffron strands

Cook the Beetroots
In a pan, heat the ghee and add the grated beetroot to the pan for five minutes until it begins to soften and release its juices.

Add Milk
Add milk to the beetroots and stir for 15-20 minutes, add sugar as per your taste and mix it well till the mixture thickens.

Add chopped nuts
Add the chopped nuts and raisins. Mix it and cook for 2-3 minutes. Now, add cardamom powder and saffron strands and stir them for two minutes.

Serve hot
Remove the halwa from the heat and let it cool slightly before serving. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
